End Hunger Network

June 22, 2006

End Hunger Network has embarked on an ambitious, exciting, and innovative project. We are building to end hunger in the form of a state-of-the-art, multipurpose logistics center and
meal-processing kitchen. The facility will allow us to bring significantly more meals to hungry members of the Houston community.

Our new building will be located at I-45 and South Main, just north of downtown. More than 9,100 square feet will be dedicated to meal preparation and storage space and 2,463 square feet to a new home for End Hunger Network's administrative offices. Currently, our meals are prepared in partner kitchens throughout the city. By consolidating most of the program operations and administrative aspects of our organization into one building, we will maximize operational efficiency.

The goal of our community-wide “Building to End Hunger” campaign is to raise a total of $5 million, $2.5 million of which will fund the construction of the new facility. The remaining funds will be devoted to the expanded program resources needed to operate the new facility and to an endowment fund reserved for emergency purchases and maintenance costs.

We look to philanthropic foundations, groups, and individual donors to help us build and operate the facility that will mean an end to hunger for thousands of men, women, and children throughout the greater Houston area.
