Hope: it's what drives our work at End Hunger Network and what we provide to Houston's hungry. Each fall, we celebrate hope with a luncheon generously underwritten by the Westin Galleria and Westin Oaks. All proceeds from the event benefit End Hunger Network's
hunger-relief programs.

Our 2005 luncheon celebrated twenty years of End Hunger Network's service to the hungry in our community. The luncheon was held Tuesday, October 18, in the Consort Ballroom of the Westin Oaks and was chaired by Anita Wilson. The Westin Galleria and Westin Oaks Hotels were awarded the prestigious Barbara Falik Humanitarian Award for their ongoing commitment to making this annual fundraiser happen.

The event was emceed by Lisa Foronda and the keynote speaker was George W. Strake, Jr. Special recognition was also given to Mary Barden Keegan, founder and chair emeritus of End Hunger Network, for her vision and determination to end hunger in the greater Houston area.

This year's luncheon raised $137,000 to help underwrite the cost of providing food to hungry Houstonians.
